That time of year is rolling around again… tax season! Luckily however, thanks to the Personal Money Management Center, there is no need to worry or stress with taxes this year, because we have a free service to help you file! Beginning February 6th, we will be offering assistance with the free VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) clinic, available to all U.S. residents. There are two ways to take advantage of VITA: visiting a VITA site on campus, or filing online at myfreetaxes.com. If you file online, you may do so at your own convenience, completely free, and with access to a 24-hour hotline for assistance. If you choose to visit a site on campus, you can utilize the expertise of our IRS certified volunteers!
Operation of the VITA on campus site begins Monday, February 6th, and is located in the Union Basement Computer Lab. For VITA hours, you can either visit our website, or go to utahbap.com/vita. Though VITA is not available for international students, we have information regarding a great resource that is also free of charge, called Sprintax. A message should be sent from the International Student and Scholar Services Center to all international students through their Umail, in mid-February, with instructions regarding the Sprintax tax software. If you have any questions, or would like additional information, please feel free to contact our office or stop by in person! We are happy to help and are eager to assist you during this tax period.
